With activities from hiking to swimming & boating to seaside strolls, this weekend excursion has something for every dog and no two trips are ever the same. Northward Hound invites your best friend to do what they innately love to do – experience and explore the scents, sights & sounds of nature, all amidst the backdrop of New Hampshire’s majestic seasonal splendor.
2. What is included in a Northward Hound weekend? How much does the weekend cost?
Northward Hound offers 3-day and 4-day weekends for dogs to New Hampshire. The weekend includes door to door pick up & drop off as well as fun-filled days of exploration & adventure and a full-service bath with blow dry and brush out. Three day weekends start at $350, four day weekends start at $450.
3. How many dogs travel on a NoHo weekend?
Northward Hound ensures attention and exclusivity for your best friend with no more than 8 dogs per trip.
4. Will my dog be off-leash during his/her adventure?
Yes and no. Northward Hound’s primary focus is the safety and well-being of your beloved friend. We tailor each trip to the personality and temperament of every dog on an individual basis. Where parts of the weekend allow for off-leash fun, other parts require on-leash attention.
5. How long is the drive to New Hampshire?
The trip from New York City to Hopkinton, New Hampshire is approximately 4 hours.
6. Is there a Northward Hound trip every weekend?
There are currently 11 trips a year with our season running from March to November. For specific travel dates please see our ‘Calendar’ page.
7. Does Northward Hound provide meals for my dog during the weekend?
Northward Hound understands the dietary needs and restrictions of each individual dog varies drastically, therefore we request each dog be sent with his/her own food for the weekend.
8. Is Northward Hound insured?
Northward Hound is a proud member of ‘Pet Sitters International’ and is fully bonded and insured through Business Insurers of the Carolina’s.
9. What happens if my dog becomes ill or gets injured over the weekend? Is there a vet on-site?
Northward Hound is fully committed to the care and safety of your dog. Should a situation arise that requires medical attention, there is a vet and 24-hr emergency animal hospital very nearby.
10. Where do the dogs stay during the Northward Hound weekend?
Northward Hound is housed in the small town of Hopkinton, New Hampshire – located in the South Central region of the state. We have turned our family’s historic cape into a virtual ‘doggie haven’ filled with all the lush amenities of home, including a comfortable climate-controlled environment, private sleeping quarters, continuous fresh water, visual, audio and live in-room entertainment, multiple daily walks in addition to our numerous activities, and 24-hr care & supervision. Nestled among 25 acres of rolling pasture and woodlands, pups have plenty of space to run, play & explore safely and securely. 11. The NoHo adventure weekend sounds great, can I join my dog on the trip?
Northward Hound is currently a ‘dogs-only’ weekend. One day, in the future, we hope to have the ability to invite canine and human alike.
